Our Process

Phase 1 - Consultation

It’s time to get to know a bit about you-- your goals, needs, and vision for your project.  What’s your budget?  What can we realistically achieve with that budget?  What are your timeline expectations?

Phase 2 - Concept

Here’s where we get more granular and look at your inspiration images and other reference points that help us develop a shared visual language.  What do you love? What do you hate?  How do you want to feel in your space?  What are the logistical considerations we need to account for so that your home serves you as well on a typical Tuesday as it does for your busiest holiday hosting event?  I want to learn about what’s important to you so that you see yourselves reflected in the finished product.

Phase 3 - Schematics

I take as-built dimensions or reference existing floor plans to render your spaces.  I build off of these drawings in order to create 2D and 3D renderings that convey design intent.  Renderings are an invaluable step in making a design vision come into focus.

Phase 4 - Design

We have our first design meeting, where we review the design path we have taken thus far, and how it has led to my initial recommendations.  We discuss various options and weigh the pros and cons of each.  We iterate and repeat this process as needed until all decisions are finalized.

Phase 5 - Implementation

We hand the completed construction documents off to multiple contractors to get bids.  I am available to my clients throughout all of the decision-making processes involved.  Once you hire your preferred contractor, I oversee that our design intentions are being actualized, and I problem-solve when surprises pop up.  I advocate for you with vendors and installers, and I keep you in the loop.

Phase 6 - Installation

Once construction is completed, we install all of your new and existing furnishings, finesse the finishing touches, and then you invite all of your friends over to show it off and celebrate!
